Mendocino County is one of the few places in California where eight distinct rivers, including the sixth largest in the state. Winding through a canopy of old-growth redwoods and jurassic-sized flora and fauna, wildlife is teeming within these waters. Pack up the RV with the family and pull up at the ocean’s edge as it meets the scenic tidal estuary of Albion River. Above stands the historic wooden Albion River Bridge, and at sea level, the campground, marina and general store await your arrival.

With its ‘Wild and Scenic’ status, Eel River doesn’t disappoint, running through five counties in the state. In Mendocino, Standish-Hickey State Recreation Area grants easy river access plus camping and hiking trails. Flanked by ancient redwood forests, Eel River offers trout fishing opportunities.

While counted as the eighth river in Mendocino County, not much public access is available on the Garcia River near Point Arena…however, when you find one, bring your fishing pole!
