Coastline

With 90+ miles of coastline, Mendocino County has a beach for everyone! The southern coastline is home to the great sweep of Manchester State Beach, which, with its catch basin, is a wonderful spot to find interesting driftwood that is strewn across the sands. Just north is Bowling Ball Beach where the concretions jut above the sand at low tide, looking like a stranded army. A favorite with locals is the pristine cove at Jug Handle State Reserve. For a bonfire, head to Blues Beach or camp at Usal Beach in the Lost Coast.
