Day 2

Morning

Pelican Bluffs Trail
Wake up early for a breathtaking 2.2-mile walk along white ocean cliffs. Bring your Surf Market coffee and watch the waves crash below, this is one of the most stunning stretches of public trail on the Mendocino Coast.

Visit Stone Ranch
Mid-morning, head south to explore this off-the-radar outdoor sculpture park. The passion project of a stonemason who opened his property to artists worldwide, it’s like wandering through a natural gallery made entirely of stone.

Afternoon

Point Arena Lighthouse & Manchester Beach Hike
Take a drive north to the tallest lighthouse on the West Coast. Snap a few photos, then hike the short trail from the Stoneboro Road entrance to Manchester State Beach, ideal for picnicking, shell hunting, or just laying in the sand.

Late Lunch at Pier Place

Evening

Day 3

Morning

Pelican Bread Pickup (Wednesdays Only)
If it’s a Wednesday, be sure to stop by the Pelican Bread roadside stand between 8–11 AM or have it delivered to your cottage. People line up early for this crusty sourdough.

Moat Creek Trail to Bowling Ball Beach
Trek along this wild coastal trail to Ross Beach, a secluded cove that often feels like your own private beach. If tides are under 1’, continue to Bowling Ball Beach where perfectly rounded rock formations sit like ancient sculptures in the surf.

Optional Detour: Horseback Ride at Ross Ranch on Manchester Beach
If you’re up for a truly unforgettable experience, book a ride through the stables in nearby Elk. Riding along the beach with waves crashing beside you is an unforgettable finale to your trip.

Afternoon

Fish Rock Cove (Private Access with Mar Vista Stay)
Wind down your trip at one of the best tide pooling beaches on the South Coast. You’ll find sea stars, anemones, and crabs tucked between rocks—just steps from your cottage.

Lunch at Gualala Seafood Shack
Wrap up your weekend with rockfish tacos and beach-town vibes. This no-frills spot delivers serious flavor.

Evening Departure 

If you’re heading out, stop at Anchor Bay Thai for an early dinner—surprisingly authentic, fresh, and flavorful.
