Billed as “America’s #1 Organic Winery,” Bonterra has been an industry leader since 1987, utilizing regenerative organic farming practices with zero waste and a climate neutral certification. Oh, and did we mention the wines are fabulous?

If you’re looking for organic wineries in Mendocino County, a visit to the nation’s first organic and biodynamic winery is, of course, in order. Set on a stunning farm with herds of cows, goats, and sheep, and gardens both edible and ornamental, it’s a wonderful way for wine lovers to while away an afternoon.

Todd Family Farms

Don’t forget the little guy. While they might not be a big name in the wine-making world, this family-run operation makes lovely wines and grows a wide selection of delectable pears.

Comptche Ridge Vineyards

While all of Mendocino County is relatively undeveloped and remote, Comptche is, well, remoter. Owned by two brothers, Comptche Ridge vineyard makes small batches of prized organic Pinot.
