1.
Harbor House Inn

Some vacations are about seeking out out of the way hole-in-the-wall gems; others are about Michelin star restaurants. The best are a little bit of both. For the latter, try this impressive establishment, with multiple Michelin star wins and a James Beard nomination. Sometimes, you get what you pay for, and chef Matthew Kammerer’s 8-12 course tasting menu will be a night to remember forever.

2.
Little River Inn

With wood-burning fireplaces, sweeping ocean vistas, and soaking tubs, Little River Inn is an excellent choice for a luxurious stay, and their restaurant rises to the level of their lodging and location. Try the spring risotto for some smoky mushroom action, or see what’s in season.

3.
Ravens Restaurant

Connected to the destination resort The Stanford Inn, Ravens features an entirely organic, entirely plant-based menu. If you haven’t tried Trumpet Royale mushroom crab-less cakes over fresh arugula yet, then you haven’t truly experienced the wonders that vegan cuisine can deliver.

4.
MacCallum House Restaurant

One of the jewels in Mendocino’s crown, both for accommodations and dining, the “Mac House,” as the locals call it, features an ever-changing seasonal menu from Chef Alan Kantor that never fails to surprise and delight.
