This three-day itinerary is designed for couples or friends looking to unwind think strolls through downtown shops, garden walks and slow sips of local vino.
Afternoon:
Arrive in Ukiah just in time for lunch and head straight to Schat’s Bakery & Café, a local favorite known for its hearty sandwiches, fresh-baked bread and melt-in-your-mouth cookies. After refueling, stretch your legs with a wander through downtown Ukiah. Pop into The Mendocino Book Company to browse local titles and staff favorites, then check out The Barkery for charming pet-themed finds and Mendocino Bounty for locally made goods and artisan treats.
Evening:
Check in to the Hampton Inn Ukiah, a comfortable base with spacious rooms and a pool perfect for relaxing before dinner. As the sun dips behind the hills, head to Patrona for flavorfull farm to table and a lively local vibe. End your night at The Thirsty Axe, where you can test your aim with a round (or two) of axe throwing, an unforgettable way to kick off your mini getaway.

Morning:

Then head over to Brutocao Cellars for a friendly game of bocce ball paired with their signature reds.
Afternoon:
For lunch, stop by The Golden Pig, a Hopland gem offering elevated comfort food with seasonal ingredients. On your way back to Ukiah, make a final winery stop at RIVINO, a family-run spot known for its laid-back tasting patio overlooking the Russian River. Sip a crisp rosé and take in the view before heading back to your hotel for a quick reset and a dip in the pool.
Evening:
Dinner tonight is at The Beehive, a beloved local restaurant with a warm atmosphere and a menu that celebrates Mendocino County’s seasonal bounty. On your drive south, stop at Terra Savia a unique olive oil and wine estate in Hopland. Sample their award-winning olive oils and wines, and maybe pick up a bottle or two as souvenirs. After a few last photos among the vineyards, you’ll hit the road feeling refreshed and recharged.
When to Visit:
Spring and fall are ideal for this getaway the weather is mild, the vineyards are vibrant, and the gardens at Campovida are in full bloom. Summer brings longer days for outdoor dining, while winter is cozy and quiet.
