+Best Time to Visit:
Spring (April–June) is one of the best times to explore Point Arena and Anderson Valley. The coastline comes alive with green hills and wildflowers, while the ocean bluffs stay dramatic with rolling fog and bright, crisp afternoons. It’s also a quieter season, so you’ll get a more peaceful, unhurried feel everywhere you go.
What to Pack:
Pack layers since coastal weather changes quickly, with cool mornings and evenings that call for a warm layer and a windbreaker or light rain jacket. Bring comfortable walking shoes plus casual outfits, and don’t forget sunglasses, sunscreen, a small daypack and a reusable water bottle for beach days, hikes, and wine tastings.
Two Extra Stops
If you find yourself with extra time in Anderson Valley, a stop at Roederer Estate is a great choice. It’s known for its sparkling wines and beautiful hillside views, making it feel a little more elevated and celebratory while still relaxed and scenic.
Another excellent option is Husch Vineyards, the oldest winery in the valley. It has a peaceful, redwood-shaded setting and a laid-back tasting experience that feels deeply rooted in the region’s history and charm.
