Westport

Situated about 15 miles north of Fort Bragg, Westport is a tiny town with just 60 inhabitants. The Westport Inn & Abalone Pub is a jewel on the Mendocino Coast, with beautifully appointed rooms. Just south of town is the magnificent Inn at Newport Ranch, located on a 2,000 acre coastal cattle ranch on the site of the former town of Newport. The beautiful 1871 farmhouse at the oceanfront Howard Creek Ranch in Westport has rooms with handcrafted redwood details, antiques, and plenty of atmosphere. There’s even a swinging bridge across the namesake creek.  Camp or hike at Westport-Union Landing State Park with more than three miles of rugged coastline. Head north on Highway 1 to access the wild and scenic Lost Coast and Sinkyone Wilderness State Park.
