Kelley House Museum

45007 Albion Street, Mendocino, CA, 95460

The Kelley House Museum is a historic home and museum located in the heart of the Mendocino Historic District. Built-in 1861 for William Kelley and his family, it is furnished with antiques from the era. The Kelley House Museum is one of the only historic homes in Mendocino where you’ll get a feeling of what it was like to live here at the turn of the 19th century when Mendocino was a bustling mill town. The home was restored and converted into a museum in 1975, with a mission to “collect, preserve, protect and share the rich history of the Mendocino Coast.” Museum Hours: Thursday – Sunday 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Walking Tours: Kelley House docents lead guided tours of the historic district for $20 per person; check the website for the current schedule (drop-ins welcome). Visit New England-style pioneer homes, learn why Mendocino is known as the “town of water towers,” admire gardens with 100-year-old roses, and find out why so many movie directors have used Mendocino as a shooting location. Group tours are available upon request. Walking Tours: Tuesday & Thursday 2:00 PM, Saturday 11:00 AM, $20/ea

Research Office: The Kelley House is also home to the only museum-quality storage and research facility open to visitors on the Mendocino Coast. Research Hours: call ahead for an appointment.
