After lunch, head to the Skunk Train Rail Bikes for one of the most unique experiences on the Mendocino County Coast. Pedal through redwood corridors, breathe in the earthy scent of the forest and listen to the gentle hum of the wheels on the tracks.

Following your rail bike adventure, make your way to Noyo Harbor Inn to check in, drop your bags and take in that first blissful view of the peaceful harbor.

Evening — Harborfront Dinner & Relaxation

Settle into the evening with dinner at the Harbor View Bistro & Bar, where locally sourced seafood and warm lighting set the tone for a slow, soothing night. Afterward, curl up in your room with the windows cracked open to let in the sound of harbor boats settling for the night.

Day 2

Morning — Breakfast & Botanical Gardens

Wake up to a calm coastal morning and enjoy a hearty breakfast at Harbor View Bistro & Bar before you head out for the day’s adventures. Then make your way to the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens, where you can wander through dahlia-lined paths, feel the salt air roll up from the ocean bluffs, and marvel at towering hedges and quiet forest groves.

Afternoon — Pier Lunch & Spa Relaxation

Head back into town to Princess Seafood Market & Café on the Noyo harbor for a lunch of just-caught fish, crab sandwiches, or bright poke bowls as working boats bob nearby. After lunch, return to Noyo Harbor Inn for a rejuvenating spa afternoon think deep-tissue massages, soothing facials, and time to simply breathe. Leave at least a little room in the day to reset and change before your evening plans.

Evening — Dinner on the Wharf

As the sun softens, make your way to  The Wharf for dinner overlooking the water. Enjoy a steaming bowl of cioppino or a plate of buttery scallops while watching the last glow fade over the harbor. Return to your room at Noyo Harbor Inn to settle in for a peaceful final night.

Tips & Extras

When to Visit:
The Mendocino Coast shines from spring through fall, when the gardens bloom and fog gives way to sparkling ocean views. Winter is quieter and moodier ideal if you love dramatic waves, empty trails, and a peaceful escape.

What to Pack:

Bring layers for changing coastal weather, comfortable walking shoes, a warm jacket for breezy evenings, and a daypack for exploring gardens and downtown. If you prefer your own cozy essentials, pack your favorite spa robe or slippers for your treatment time at the inn.

Bonus Stops in Fort Bragg:

Van Damme State Park
Just south of Mendocino, this lush park offers fern-filled canyons, quiet redwood groves, and easy coastal hikes perfect for a peaceful add-on adventure. It’s an ideal stop if you’re craving a bit more nature before heading home.

Ricochet Ridge Ranch
For something more adventurous, Ricochet Ridge Ranch offers guided horseback rides along forest trails and sweeping coastal bluffs. It’s a memorable way to experience the Mendocino coastline from an entirely different perspective.
