Tips & Extras

Best Time to Visit:
Late spring through early fall (May–October) offers mild weather, sunny days, and clear coastal views, though winter brings dramatic waves and far fewer crowds.

What to Pack:
Layers are essential cool mornings, warm afternoons and crisp evenings by the coast. Don’t forget comfortable walking shoes, a jacket for fireside nights and a reusable water bottle.

2 Bonus Stops to Consider:

Glass Beach – This world-famous shoreline is scattered with smooth, colorful sea glass, a legacy of the town’s past as a dumping ground. Walking along the beach, you’ll see pieces of glass polished by the waves into jewel-like stones, creating a sparkling mosaic along the sand. It’s a fun and unusual stop perfect for photos or simply enjoying the unique scenery.

Point Cabrillo Light Station – A picturesque lighthouse perched on dramatic coastal cliffs, offering panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean. Wander the surrounding trails, explore the historic light station and keeper’s house, and take in sweeping sunsets that make it one of the most photogenic spots along the Northern California coast.
