What a Winesong!

Fall may be our favorite time of year on the Mendocino County coast. The weather is crisp and beautiful; those amazing sunsets happen a little earlier; the vines are showing a bouquet of fall color. Fall is also the setting for one of Mendocino County’s longest-running community events, Winesong Weekend. Winesong is an annual fundraiser benefiting the Mendocino Coast District Hospital.  2017 is the 33rd year for this memorable coastal weekend of wine, art and flowers.

This year’s Winesong Weekend starts September 8 with a Pinot Noir Celebration at the Little River Inn, overlooking the Pacific. This is an opportunity to evaluate wines and learn how classic Pinot Noir improves with age. Savor these lush and elegant wines while you meet and mingle with the winemakers. Little River Inn’s best culinary offerings will be specifically paired to the outstanding Pinot Noir being offered.

The main event is the Charity Auction and Tasting, September 9 in the beautiful dahlia garden at Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens in Fort Bragg. More than 200 lots will be available, featuring rare vintages, large format bottles and special vertical and horizontal collections, as well as original art from acclaimed California artists (including this year’s featured artist, Rebecca Johnson).
