There are many activities for kids in Mendocino County! You can’t beat a beach for a fun family time, and the coast and inland have a lot of beaches to choose from. Glass Beach is a perennial favorite especially with the newly-opened Coastal Trail. Lake Mendocino offers the opportunity to get on the water or go fishing on the river. In summer, you can’t beat splashing in the Navarro River at Hendy Woods.

Catch-A-Canoe & Bicycles Too is your HQ for rides on the river and along the river’s Haul Road. Take a picnic (and the pooch) and make a day of it. The Skunk Train, which runs from Willits and Fort Bragg, is a great day out for the entire family or if you like to camp, consider the Camping on the Noyo package. Giraffes in Point Arena? Sure there are at B. Bryan Preserve. Go on one of the two daily feeding tours to visit the animals of the veldt that make the south coast their home.

If you’re hungry for an ice cream, try the home made favorites at Cowlick’s in Fort Bragg, Paysanne in Boonville, and Frankie’s in Mendocino. Pizza’s always a kid choice for lunch and dinner – Piaci in Fort Bragg and Saucy in Ukiah will appeal to all generations.
