Long the stuff of legends and great music, the former Caspar Inn has been reopened as a quintessentially British gastropub and dubbed the Caspar Pub House. With plenty of beer on tap and a nitro version of Old Speckled Hen, the bar is tended by the husband and wife team of Daniel and Jay Ramirez. Jay brings a touch of her native South Yorkshire to play on the traditional pub fare menu that includes the obligatory fish and chips, accompanied by beef gravy, mushy peas and tartar sauce, a twist on Welsh rarebit and Scotch Egg, and Britain’s favorite entree, Chicken Tikka Masala. Kids will love the Toasties! But it’s not just the food and beer that make a pub a pub… it’s the atmosphere, which Jay and Daniel have in spades.
