With a canopy of old-growth redwoods\, the Navarro River running through it and both picnic and camping areas\, Hendy Woods offers an ideal respite with easy walking trails\, including the wheelchair accessible Discovery Trail. 						\n				\n				\n				\n		\n		\n				\n			\n		\n											\n\n				\n				\n				\n			Lake View		\n				\n				\n		\n				\n				\n							You don’t need to be on the coast to enjoy a waterside wander. Ukiah’s Lake Mendocino offers an easy jaunt along the water’s edge. Take some deep breaths for a relaxing and meditative stroll on the Shakota Trail. 						\n				\n				\n				\n		\n		\n				\n			\n		\n									Photo Courtesy of @thejimmythree 		\n\n				\n				\n				\n			Waterfall Wonder		\n				\n				\n		\n				\n				\n							Just east of Highway 1 in Mendocino\, you can trek 2.5 miles along a fern fronds trail to view a pristine 35-foot waterfall amid towering redwoods…hence the name\, Fern Canyon Trail. These lands are ancestral and traditional to the Manchester Band of Pomo. Located in Caspar\, midway between Fort Bragg and Mendocino village\, the trail is only 2.5 miles but that staircase will test your stamina! Of course you can take it as slow or fast as you like while taking in the beauty of nature. 						\n				\n				\n				\n		\n		\n				\n			\n		\n											\n\n				\n				\n				\n			The Roads Less Traveled		\n				\n				\n		\n				\n				\n							Whether your walking south to north or north to south\, the Noyo Headlands Trail in Fort Bragg offers an easy trek with stunning vistas and artisan benches to sit for a spell.  Or head to the lost coast for the Lost Coast Trail\, part of the Sinkyone Wilderness State Park.
