SUMMARY:Tonton JJ - Guided Wild Mushroom & Coastal Foraging
DESCRIPTION:Take a Hike \n \n \n \n \n \n Mendocino County has hundreds of trails for traversing. Whether an easy walk\, a more strenuous hike or something in between\, you have several options to get out in nature and explore the rugged beauty around the area – forests\, coastline\, valleys and mountains…our trails will leave you enchanted! \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n The Valley Below \n \n \n \n \n \n Within Anderson Valley lies a hidden gem in Hendy Woods State Park. With a canopy of old-growth redwoods\, the Navarro River running through it and both picnic and camping areas\, Hendy Woods offers an ideal respite with easy walking trails\, including the wheelchair accessible Discovery Trail. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n Lake View \n \n \n \n \n \n You don’t need to be on the coast to enjoy a waterside wander. Ukiah’s Lake Mendocino offers an easy jaunt along the water’s edge. Take some deep breaths for a relaxing and meditative stroll on the Shakota Trail. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Photo Courtesy of @thejimmythree \n\n \n \n \n Waterfall Wonder \n \n \n \n \n \n Just east of Highway 1 in Mendocino\, you can trek 2.5 miles along a fern fronds trail to view a pristine 35-foot waterfall amid towering redwoods…hence the name\, Fern Canyon Trail. It’s all part of Russian Gulch State Park\, featuring 15 miles of hiking trails. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Photo Courtesy of Bob Wick\, Bureau of Land Management \n\n \n \n \n Sacred Stornetta\n \n \n \n \n \n \n The Point Arena-Stornetta Public Lands became a California Coastal National Monument in 2014. These lands are ancestral and traditional to the Manchester Band of Pomo. With over 1\,600 acres\, this windswept bluff with prairies and birds offers peace\, clarity\, and a balm for the soul. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Photo Courtesy of @goldensprkle \n\n \n \n \n Stairway to Heaven \n \n \n \n \n \n Level up your outdoor trek with a jaunt on the Jug Handle  Ecological Staircase Trail. Located in Caspar\, midway between Fort Bragg and Mendocino village\, the trail is only 2.5 miles but that staircase will test your stamina! Of course you can take it as slow or fast as you like while taking in the beauty of nature. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n The Roads Less Traveled \n \n \n \n \n \n Whether your walking south to north or north to south\, the Noyo Headlands Trail in Fort Bragg offers an easy trek with stunning vistas and artisan benches to sit for a spell.  Or head to the lost coast for the Lost Coast Trail\, part of the Sinkyone Wilderness State Park. Hike a nearly 2-mile loop of the Montgomery Trail at Montgomery Woods State Natural Reserve (west of Ukiah)\, which has some of the tallest trees in the county – a fitting place for both ‘ahhh’ and ‘awe’ moments.  Find more trails:MendoParks and Mendocino Land Trust \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Keep Exploring the Magic! \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Pet Friendly Restaurants and Bars\n \n \n \n Foggy Mornings & Golden Evenings: A Restorative 4-Day Ukiah Retreat\n \n \n \n High-lighting the High-life\n \n \n \n Great Cannabis Dispensaries\n \n \n \n \n \n \n Load More

\n \n \n \n \n \n \n Girls’ Getaway For Wine\, Waves\, and Wellness\n \n \n \n Seaside Solitude & Safari Stays\n \n \n \n Restaurants Spotlighting Great Local Produce\n \n \n \n The Best Fish and Chips Restaurants in Mendocino County\n \n \n \n \n \n \n Load More

\n \n \n \n \n \n \n Elk and South Coast Adventures\n \n \n \n Coastal Escape: A Relaxed Mendocino County Weekend\n \n \n \n 3 Ways to Recharge in Mendocino\n \n \n \n 5 Must-Visit Art Galleries and Studios on the Mendocino Coast\n \n \n \n \n \n \n Load More
