Pine St.\, Ukiah\, CA \nGeorge Husaruk\, flute; Paul Yarbrough\, viola; Bill Taylor\, piano; and singer Jaye Alison Moscariello will play selections of Bill’s compositions from his 3 albums arranged for duo\, trio\, or quartet\, and a few works by other composers. Bill writes contemporary classical\, influenced by jazz and show tunes\, inspired by nature\, love\, outer space\, and current goings on. There will be a 15-minute intermission and brief reception after. Music CD’s will be available. Tickets $25 suggested donation at the door – opens at 6:30 PM. Half the proceeds benefit the church’s ministries. You may call Bill at 707-272-1688 or the church phone (707) 462-3360 for details. \nBill Taylor was pianist and occasional organist at the church and in the Soul Purpose Band from 2012 to 2020. Since moving east to rural Massachusetts he plays in his quartet The Thistles and continues writing and recording new music. He is happy to be returning to Ukiah for this concert! Jazz flautist George Husaruk led Soul Purpose Band from 2016 to 2019 and moved to Grass Valley CA in 2019 where he leads two choirs and the Grass Valley Symphony Orchestra. He periodically returns and performs in the Mendo-Lake area. Paul Yarbrough was violist with the Bay Area’s Alexander Quartet which recorded many albums\, and he moved to Redwood Valley in 2019 and has played with the Ukiah Symphony and many ensembles in the valley. Jaye Alison Moscariello sang with the Soul Purpose Band when living in Redwood Valley\, and has sung in concerts and on all three of Bill’s albums and put her professional art skills into designing the album jackets. \nThe concert will include plenty of improvisation as well as skillfully written music\, and a few jazz standards will round out the program. Bill Taylor’s music can be described as “picture Stephen Sondheim on the way to a Beethoven classical concert and stopping off at a jazz club.” All three musicians will have their albums available.
