Sponsored by the City of Mendocino. \nMendocino\, CA— July 2-12– This 2026 season\, Flynn Creek Circus invites audiences to ‘The Cricket & the Wren’ — memorable family fun and Artful athleticism under the circus big top.\nA merchant’s daughter sets out to find the castle where the horizon meets the sea. In order to break the spell of the Frog Prince\, she must brave a harrowing journey filled with wonder.\nAlong the adventure\, she encounters Jack and the Beanstalk’s sassy cow\, an out of pocket Pirate and the secret sacrifice of the cricket and the wren.\nFeaturing aerialists\, jugglers\, knife throwers\, and laugh out loud comedy\, this circus blends classic storybook archetypes with imaginative new heroes. The Cricket and the Wren will surprise\, dazzle and delight all ages.\nIn addition to the family friendly showings\, and the interactive children’s camp program held under the circus big top\, Flynn Creek Circus also presents the wildly popular ‘Adults Only Show’ boasting outrageous acts\, dark comedy\, and an infamous party atmosphere. Check the website for select adults only showtimes as well as special discount nights. \nSpectators for all showings are invited to the tent to experience the magic up to 30 minutes before each show. SUMMARY:Sundays in the Park: Blair Crimmons & the Hookers
DESCRIPTION:Sundays in the Park Free Concert Series is the largest and most recognized community event in Mendocino County. Since 1992\, the series has thrilled the community with exceptional musical performances by artists from diverse genres including blues\, classical\, country\, salsa\, soul\, rock\, swing\, reggae and more. Each summer\, taking center stage in beautiful Todd Grove Park\, six free concerts featuring world-renowned artists as well as local talent\, entertain more than 20\,000 music fans. \nBlair Crimmins began his current music career in Atlanta\, Georgia\, with a drive to bring Ragtime and 1920’s style Dixieland Jazz to new audiences. While playing small rock clubs around the Southeast he developed a sound that is at once modern while being deeply rooted in the past. He has toured the U.S and Italy playing festivals and has opened for acts such as Preservation Hall Jazz Band and Old Crow Medicine show. A multi-instrumentalist on guitar\, banjo and piano\, Crimmins writes songs and arrangements for a classic New Orleans style horn section consisting of trumpet\, clarinet and trombone. His debut release “The Musical Stylings Of” became a college radio sensation on WRAS Atlanta making him the most requested band on the air. In 2012 Crimmins showed his musical diversity by writing and recording the full score for the independent short film “Old Man Cabbage”. The following year\, Crimmins was the critics pick for Best Song Writer of 2013 in Creative Loafing’s Best of ATL issue. His next album entitled Sing-a-longs! earned him a nomination at The Georgia Music Awards for Best Jazz Artist. After years of relentless touring the country and abroad Blair Crimmins released his 4th album of original ragtime music You Gotta Sell Something (2017)\, as well as a children’s album All Aboard (2019) and a 5th full length record featuring swinging covers of his favorite artists ranging from Louis Armstrong to David Bowie entitled “Okay Boom!” in 2021
