Yellowman with Mendo Dope Band @ The Thirsty Axe

KING YELLOWMAN LIVE AT THE THIRSTY AXE
with special guests Mendo Dope Band
A true legend of Jamaican music is coming back to Ukiah! King Yellowman, one of the most influential and groundbreaking artists in reggae and dancehall history, takes the stage at The Thirsty Axe for an unforgettable night of live music.
Rising to international fame in the 1980s, Yellowman helped bring Jamaican dancehall to audiences around the world, becoming the first dancehall artist signed to Columbia Records and earning two Grammy nominations during his legendary career.
Opening the night will be Mendo Dope Band, bringing some serious Mendocino County flavor to the show. Founded by local brothers Old E and Bleezy, Mendo Dope has developed its own genre-bending sound combining reggae, West Coast hip-hop and rock with music deeply rooted in Northern California’s cannabis culture. Their full live band delivers funky rhythms, heavy bass and high-energy performances that make them a perfect way to kick off the night.
