Gualala Arts Center is thrilled to announce the latest in the Write Up the Coast workshop series, “A Magical Evening of Stories and Art.” Participants will meet daily from Sunday, July 6, through Friday, July 11, at Gualala Arts Center from 4–6 p.m. to refine their stories, culminating in a public reading at the Friday, July 11 Weathering the Landscape opening. The journey culminates in the public reading on opening night, making this event a rare opportunity to witness stories being found, formed, and spoken aloud for the first time.
For the first time, a small group of local writers will take the stage to read their original stories aloud—for the very first time—following a week of deep, immersive writing sessions held right here at the Arts Center. These stories, inspired by the many meanings of “landscape,” are shaped in an environment of trust, creativity, and community.
Write Up the Coast, founded by Mark Sanford Gross (founder of the beloved KGUA Writers), is not a traditional workshop—it’s an immersion into story-finding. Writers of all experience levels come together in a supportive circle to uncover, craft, and share the stories they didn’t know they were carrying. Many describe it as nothing short of magical.
Limited space is available, with only 12 spots open. Registration includes all materials, sessions, and coaching.
Don’t miss this unique opportunity to experience the convergence of visual art and the written word. Attend the Arts Center opening—and stay for the stories.
