In this show, Karen takes off from her familiar landscape format and invites you to enjoy her series of squares “founded in the spirit of having maximum fun. While we grapple with everyday life, there’s moments of joy to be had. Why not plan for it.”
Mixed media on wood panel, each piece is uniquely expressed and part of a colorful collection.

For me, painting is a practice, a perspective on life. Each new piece presents a chance for optimism. This is why I paint and what I hope to convey. Karen Bowers, 2024.

Karen has been painting and teaching watercolor workshops for nearly twenty years. She shows locally at the Artists Cooperative of Mendocino and Cloud Nine Gallery in Fort Bragg. She has exhibited at California College of the Arts, California Oak Foundation, California Wildlife Foundation and Yosemite Museum Gallery, the latter in a show of her work as an Artist in Residence at Yosemite National Park.  Her paintings have earned national, regional and local awards.
