Join us on First Friday, October 4, 2024 for the opening reception of paper artist Neno Villamor’s new exhibition.
5pm-8pm, light refreshments will be served.
Exploring movement in human and animal figures has always driven Neno Villamor’s artwork. Since 1998 she has been working in low relief sculpture and casting her original modeling clay images as “Multiple Originals. Villamor also applies the same casting technique to freestanding original sculptures.
For her upcoming show as “Featured artist of the month” Villamor is in the process of finishing her first free standing mermaid sculpture, which will accent the other mermaids on the gallery wall.
Villamor explains:
“She is the first freestanding mermaid I have attempted, and as such I have had to work out unforeseen issues of engineering. When I plan these projects I always seem to find that a process takes longer than anticipated, especially when taking on a new figure. The upshot being that I will be happy to get this one new figure completed rather than the multitudes my over active imagination envisioned.”
The exhibition will be up for the month of October.
