Anderson Valley Aromatic White Wine Festival
February 24 @ 8:30 am - 9:00 pmVaries
The Anderson Valley Aromatic White Wine Festival (formerly known as the Alsace Wine Festival) brings together producers of these fine white wines from around the world. The day begins with three educational sessions held at the Mendocino County Fairground in Boonville, CA. Maidenstoen Wine will present their vineyard designate/site-specific Rieslings from California's Central Coast. Session two features Culinary Institute of America Chefs Lars Kronmark and Christie Dufault who will share three specially paired food bites for each of three different aromatic white wine varietals (Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris, and Riesling) from some of the oldest vineyards in Anderson Valley. If you've been wondering about German Wine Label Law as it relates to Riesling, wine columnist Dan Berger will shed light on the matter.
Follow the morning's work by attending the Grand Tasting at which you can taste aromatic whites, meet the winemakers, and sample delicious bites prepared especially to pair with the wines.
In the evening, Scharffenberger Cellars opens its doors for a Winemaker Dinner. Wine and dine with a winemaker at your table on a multi-course meal focused on locally sourced ingredients that showcase the specially selected wines from each of the evening's participating winemakers.
