Alex de Grassi has been a unique voice in the world of acoustic guitar since his first solo guitar recording in 1978; his innovative approach to composing and arranging for solo steel-string guitar has influenced a generation of younger players. From his first solo performances in university coffeehouses and as a street musician to his engagements at prestigious venues including Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and the Montreux Jazz Festival, Alex has followed his own vision and helped lay the foundation for contemporary fingerstyle guitar.

DAVID HAYES –
In late1969 David moved to Marin County California to start a life in music. His first break was working for Bill Graham backing up folk artists signed to his Equinox management group.
In 1971 Jesse Colin Young, leaving the Youngbloods, brought David into his new band; In 1972 Van Morrison brought David into the studio to record the Hard Nose The Highway lp, beginning a 53 year relationship that carries on to this day.
As a solo artist David has been signed to 4 labels for his own compositions and another 4 independent releases: Rag Baby, Gold Castle (2), Line (classical label in Germany) and Shanachie (for the compilation ‘Acoustic Hearts’), and, now, Shack In The Back.
David has also had the pleasure of recording and/or performing with:
Joan Baez, Elvin Bishop, Bobby Blue Bland, Jon Bon Jovi, Bill Bottrell, Booker T, Ray Charles, Sheryl Crow, Country Joe McDonald, Jackie De Shannon, Mathew Fisher, Tom Fogerty (performer and producer), Jerry Garcia, Buddy Guy, Herbie Hancock, John Lee Hooker, Nicky Hopkins, Iain Matthews, Michael McDonald, Taj Mahal, Bruce Springsteen, Southside Johnny and The Ashbury Jukes, Little Steven Van Zant, Chris Williamson and more.
