Experience Real Peace and Solitude

The South Coast offers visitors miles and miles of pristine beaches and coastal bluffs where one can enjoy the peace and solitude of nature.

But the scenery, spectacular as it is, is only one of the attractions here.  The communities of Gualala, Anchor Bay, Point Arena, Manchester and Elk contain pleasures and surprises all their own.  Unforgettable inns, lodges, B&B’s, lighthouses, historic buildings and structures, quirky oddities, distinguished art galleries, world class restaurants, delightful shops and more await the curious visitor.

For anyone interested in the arts and the deep-rooted artistic community that flourishes along the length of the County’s coast, the first stop here should be the Gualala Arts Center. The facility, which includes an outdoor amphitheater, sits among huge redwoods and exhibits work by local artists in two gallery areas, present a variety of live performances and special and community events, and offers workshops in arts and crafts. The Center also serves as a clearinghouse of artistic and cultural information for the coast, a great single-stop resource.
