The Brutocao family has a long history in Mendocino County; their grandfather Irv Bliss purchased their ranch in the late 1940's and began farming grapes to sell to larger wineries, mostly in Sonoma County. When his daughter Martha and son-in-law Len Brutocao decided to take over the business in the 1970's the plans for producing their own wine began. In the 1980's they produced their first vintage and have been growing, producing and selling their Brutocao brand ever since. In the late 1990's they decided to honor their grandfather by producing wines under the Bliss label. Both the Brutocao and Bliss wines are distributed all over the United States and exported to several countries throughout the world. They have won numerous medals and awards over the years for their wines, and still sell a part of their grapes Winery tasting room, restaurant, gift shop, bocce courts, wedding grounds, small child's playground, event center.
