Festivals and Events

Mendocino County knows how to celebrate. Our festivals include celebrations of our signature local foods such as crab, salmon, abalone and mushrooms and many wonderful events that feature our wines and locally brewed beers.

The winter holidays are a magical time in Mendocino County, with annual traditions that stretch back generations and delight young and old alike. Other annual events celebrate whales, music, art, film, vintage locomotives and California’s oldest continuous rodeo.

No matter the time of year, there is always a unique, fun and unforgettable experience to be had in Mendocino County!

Audubon Society Bird Walk

April 16, 2014

Join us for a bird walk on the third Wednesday of the month at 8:30AM November through March and then at 8AM April through October, at the spectacular Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens. We also have a beginner's bird walk the first Saturday of the month at 9AM at the Gardens.

Mendocino Coast Botanicals Gardens Earth Day Specials

The Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens are a treat at any time of year but particularly in the spring when the 100 species and 170 cultivars of Rhododendrons start to bloom. You don’t have to go to Nepal to see Rhododendron 40’ high in full bloom!

Stop in at Rhody's Cafe, which re-opens on April 18 for special treats throughout the festival.
