Paul Bunyan Days says “A.W.W.W.” to all resident Fort Bragg ladies

Can you throw like a girl? Paul Bunyan Days says “A.W.W.W” to all Fort Bragg resident ladies. As sweet as that sounds, what it stands for is anything but – Ax-Wielding Women Wanted. This year’s Paul Bunyan Days will feature a women-only Ax Throwing competition and other logger events to be held Sunday, September 5, 2010.

Ever wonder what kind of ax is used in ax-throwing? Watch this video to hear local and returning contestant, Gary Richards, explain. My personal favorite quote “and this one I kind of designed for the kids to throw”.

All locals are invited to enter the logging competitions by going to their website http://www.paulbunyandays.com/page2.html.

The logging competitions will include:
20 ft Axe Throw
Single Buck Handsaw
Hand Chopping
Choker Setting Obstacle
Pole Climb
Ol’ Timers Competition (60+ yrs old)
Chain Saw Bucking (hot start using stock power saw)
Double Buck Handsaw
Jack and Jill Handsaw
King of the Log Pillow Fight
Paul Bunyan Days will be held Labor Day weekend September 4-6, 2010 in Fort Bragg. For a complete list of events, visit the official website www.paulbunyandays.com
