Set amid lush vineyards outside the idyllic wine hamlet of Hopland, Weibel Family Vineyards & Winery is a contemporary Mendocino winery located on California Highway 175 on the way to Lake County’s resorts and casinos. Established in 1869, the Weibel Family has been producing Champagne, sparkling, and still fine wines for over 75 years, first in their native Switzerland, and then since 1939 after moving to California. When Fred E. Weibel, Sr., and his father Rudolf came to California, they brought with them classic, old world-winemaking techniques and traditions, combined with a personal commitment to quality and excellence.
Today, Weibel Family Vineyards & Winery is under the direction of Fred E. Weibel, Jr., President and Owner. Working along with him is his cousin, Gary Habluetzel, in charge of production. The fourth Weibel Family generation is now working at the winery; Fred's son Justin is a graduate of the UC Davis Fermentation Sciences Program and is the winemaker at Weibel Family Vineyards & Winery. Together they carry on the traditions of hard work, dedication, and excellence established many years ago by Rudolph Weibel.
Our beautiful winery is available for special events, from wine country weddings to corporate meetings during retreats. We provide event planners and wedding coordinators to assist you in making your event the very best possible. The winery and garden grounds offer endless possibilities for groups of all sizes.
