Harmonique
Harmonique is a joint effort between long-time Anderson Valley winemaker Robert Klindt and wine aficionado Bruce Conzelman. Over the last 19 years, Robert has established a reputation for himself as a winemaker who can get the best from the available fruit through patience and careful blending. Robert has won many accolades for his Claudia Springs Winery Pinot Noir, Zinfandel and Viognier. Bruce brings to the partnership a vast knowledge and love of Pinot Noir, enjoying wines from Burgundy to Oregon to California. Recognizing the potential for Pinot Noir in the cool climate of Anderson Valley, he teamed up with Robert to produce a wine that would be on a par with any in the world. This harmony of passion and experience has proven to be successful in these two releases. We believe that you will discover it to be among the best you have experienced and an elegant accompaniment to your most intimate or celebratory meal.
The Terroir
Harmonique grapes are grown in Anderson Valley, Mendocino County, California. It is recognized as a world class growing area, the perfect terroir for Pinot Noir, whose potential is still being explored.
The Grapes
The heart of greatness of any wine is the grapes. Anderson Valley offers newly available clones and those of older, mature vineyards. Harmonique includes fruit from 29-year old vines from one of the western-most vineyards in the Valley, along with fruit from the 9-year old Klindt Vineyard, which includes some of the newer clones introduced in recent years. We have handled the grapes gently: hand picking, gentle de-stemming, native yeasts, and traditional non interventional wine making.
Harmonique was aged in 70% new French Oak for 19 months, separated by vineyard and clone, and blended to result in the most elegant, complex, exciting result, then bottle aged for an additional 6 months prior to release.
