Mickie began playing music as a teen. He founded Lark In The Morning, an international business that specializes in rare and unusual musical instruments. He is a musical instrument collector, and a videographer specializing in traditional music and dance. He has performed with "Mickie & Elizabeth", "The Zekley Family Band" "The Golden Toad," "McClouds Ceili Band," "Take A Dance" and "Mooncoin."

Mickie performs Scottish & Irish music on the Highland Bagpipes & Scottish Smallpipes and many other instruments.
He has been playing the pipes for over 40 years.

Recordings featuring Mickie include "Fiona's Folly," the "Mooncoin" album.
